Winter Wonderland?
Watching my parents build this snowman four decades ago is my earliest known memory. Back then, I loved snowy weather, and always did for the longest time.
These days, not so much. Most of Louisville is currently under an extended power outage for the second time in four months. Last September, it was due to strong winds from Hurricane Ike, but this time, it is the result of a never ending snow and ice storm. Supposedly, the worst power outage in Kentucky history.
My wife and I piddle-farted around for two days trying to decide what to do. Our new street is a ghost town, as apparently everybody else has abandoned it. We got our fireplace working for the first time at the new house yesterday, but ran out of firewood, which appears to be sold out everywhere.
All local hotels are booked up… so we’re headed out of town. Not too far away, though.
Ben is impatiently hanging out with me at the office, as his mom works today. Apparently my employers have decided to unceremoniously start blocking Facebook from us, so I can’t give a status update where people might actually read it!

Power came back on sometime late Friday, meaning it was out three days this time. Not so bad, considering.
