Songs from Senior Year
25 Classic Videos in Chronological Order
- During junior and senior years, I wrote a regular column for our high school paper called Music Madness.
- In November 1982, I conducted a comprehensive survey of FCHS students to determine their musical preferences... Billy Squier's "Everybody Wants You" was most popular song at that moment in time.
- I made a mix tape of Senior Year songs in 1993 for our 10th reunion, and a mix CD of 20 Songs from Senior Year in 2003 which I sent to some friends.
- For this version of the list, I shifted from whatever songs I had available on CD back then to songs that had music videos. Our homecoming song, "You and I" by Crystal Gayle and Eddie Rabbit, did not have one, so I dropped it and ended up adding six to the 2003 mix CD list.
- If we're all still around for the 30 year reunion, I'll add "Should I Stay or Should I Go" by the Clash, "The Look of Love" by ABC, "Little Too Late" by Pat Benatar, "Let's Dance" by David Bowie, and "She's a Beauty" by the Tubes.

"Memories...light the corners of my mind.." ;-)
I loaded the MP3 player with 39 Songs from Senior Year which I listened to on the way to Fairfield. As I was arriving in town, Billy Joel's "Allentown" came on, so that was the last one I heard. As I left town 3.5 hours later, I put on popular Louisville band My Morning Jacket's highly acclaimed new album Evil Urges... it is great. I am deleting all the 1982-1983 songs, although if I had to keep one, the one I am least sick of hearing at this point is.... Jackson Browne's "Somebody's Baby", which is another one of those which did not have a music video.
