Smallville, now in its seventh season, is by far the longest running primetime series in the superhero genre. It's not as good as it once was (and never was that great), but there is still fun to be had with each episode. For instance, tonight featured the first appearance of Black Canary, and by the end of the hour she was nudged into the arms of Green Arrow where she belongs, while Lois was nudged into the arms of Clark Kent where she will eventually belong.
Clark is apparantly in his post-college years now, but still hasn't made the permanent move from Smallville to Metropolis. He has yet to transform into Superman, which is a little weird considering he is now surrounded by other superheroes and until this show Superman had always been known as the first and greatest of them all. The appearance of Black Canary in Clark's life is just the latest divergence from the comic book universe, joining Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, Perry White, Aquaman, Flash, Bizarro, Cyborg, Supergirl, Brainiac, and the Martian Manhunter as characters who are supposed to meet Clark after he becomes Superman, not before.

Lost is a lot of fun, but oh so frustrating. This clever show just started its fourth season with more attention than usual, being one of the few primetime network dramatic series able to show new episodes over the next two months.
Here is an observation I've never seen mentioned anywhere else in all the internet: in every episode of Lost, a character mentions being lost, but it is never in the overall sense of the plane crash survivors being lost together. It always has to do with something else. That's kind of cool.
I love spoilers, and I know lots of other people who like this show, but they are all virulently anti-spoiler, so I don't have anybody to discuss this fun stuff with. For instance, I've known the identities of the Oceanic Six for the past few months, but I get screamed at for even bringing up the topic. Sheesh.

Oh, not so anti-spoiler as to dig for more? Well here you go, suckas: Jack, Kate, and Hurley have already been revealed. The other three are Sayid, Sun, and Jin... it's been all over the 'net for months. By the way, just because apparantly only six plane crash survivors get off the island, that doesn't mean other islanders who weren't passengers on that flight also won't get off.
Yeah, yeah... they gamed us spoiler hunters with the Sun and Jin episode (where, at the last minute, we see that Jin was NOT one of the Oceanic Six). So as we all know by now, baby Aaron counts as one of the Six, and at this point I know nothing more about any future episodes.
