The World's Greatest Gourmet Sandwiches at Jimmy John's may be new to the Louisville area, but they aren't new to me! Per their take out menu: "Established in Charleston, IL in 1983 to add to students GPA and general dating ability".

Hey... my college career was established in Charleston, IL in 1983! And I do remember early in my freshman year being invited to a floor party at Carman Hall where they had brought in a giant sub from Jimmy John's! Alas, I do not remember partaking of any other Jimmy John's subs during my remaining four years at EIU, though I did have one in Indianapolis at the turn of this century.

Now maybe we know why my GPA and general dating ability tanked while I was in Charleston, IL...
