It's Free Comic Book Day! Which usually lasts a week or more at most comic shops. Yes, comic books, one of the most overlooked original American art forms gets its due during this annual promotion, usually timed to coincide with the release of a new superhero movie. For those living under a rock, this year that movie happens to be Spider-Man 3. Featuring three terrifying super villians, Spider-Man 3 is good... not as good as Spider-Man 2, but then, no superhero movie is as good as Spider-Man 2. I'd still put Spider-Man 3 ahead of any of the Batman or Superman movies, X-Men, Daredevil, and especially Fantastic Four... a 2005 adaptation of The World's Greatest Comics Magazine which happens to be, in my opinion, the worst superhero movie of all time. Its sequel, Rise of the Silver Surfer, opens in a few weeks with lowered expectations... What's this? Marvel's monsterous planet devourer Galactus is to appear as but a mere cloud? That's just not right...
