On Thanksgiving Eve back in Fairfield, we dined at DiMaggio's with Dad. This being my first time there since my bachelor party steak dinner in 2003, my first time eating pizza there since 1999 (when I had a winter flu and was out of my head), and the first time Ben or Tiffany ever dined there, although we had their pizza delivery last June.

Being a weekly hangout for my gang throughout high school (though at their previous location until senior year) and many college weekends, of course I had to bore my companions with tales of how things used to be. "We're sitting right where the salad bar was". "Around the corner by the restrooms, they had a Ms. Pac-Man machine". Etc.

It wasn't long before I had to take Ben to the restroom, and lo and behold, Ms. Pac-Man was still there! Much had changed in this fine restaurant over the past 25 years, and not all for the good -- for instance, our pepperoni and mushroom pizza took more than an hour to arrive and the crust was burnt -- but this little jolt of nostalgia made it a worthwhile trip.
