Ground Force Louisville

Green thumbs up to the BHS Database and Integration team. We spent the day pulling weeds, shoveling dirt, planting flowers and grass seed, laying mulch, and removing unwanted shrubs at a family resource center for the homeless in downtown Louisville, in association with Volunteers of America. We improved a playground in the common area so rain water would drain properly, and planted beautiful flower beds in the residential area.

It was fun to contribute time to do good for people in need... Hopefully, my back will recover soon.

Housequake

My wife felt it, but not surprisingly I slept through the big quake early this morning, and felt none of the aftershocks throughout the day. However, the epicenter was only about 30 miles away from my family in Southern Illinois, and they definitely felt it. Thankfully, everybody is okay.

Speed Racin'

Many cool new unoriginal eye-candy movies will be released over the next few months, but I have to say, the one I am looking forward to most is Speed Racer. I loved the original Americanized version from the late 1960s, and it seems as though the new movie is going to retain its fun and adventurous spirit.
