Reunited in Louisville: The Police Rock Churchill Downs!

One of the best concerts I've ever seen ended an hour ago. I fell for the music of The Police starting with the 1980 album Zenyatta Mondatta, still my favourite of theirs. Sting is like a musical superhero to me, ageing little since I last saw him seven years ago this month.

Did you know?

1. As he reminded us tonight, a horse named after Sting's youngest son Giacomo won the 2005 Kentucky Derby.

2. Sting's oldest son Joe Sumner is lead singer for Fiction Plane, tonight's opening act. They were good too!

Postscript, July 16:

The Police weren't the only ones reuniting in Louisville this weekend. Ben visited his dad, perhaps for the last time until October. Despite our unusual new family arrangement, I'm starting to think everything will turn out okay.
