Okay, so where's the comment box on the Portland post?! :-)
I read your trip diary--just wanted to let you know that there IS an ice rink in a Midwest mall...the outlet mall right outside St. Louis. The St. Louis Blues use it as their practice rink, but it's open to the public at other times.
There may be others--that's the only one of which I'm aware, though. :-)
(The comment box wasn't a regular feature until Dena said something... and it's good to know that I can go iceskating at a mall in near St. Louis if I need to!)
Update: Believe it or not, the person who butchered my hair (a substitute for the person who normally cuts it) on this day actually got a second chance to butcher it in mid-September. She did a slightly better job, but damn, I really need to start going somewhere else!! Old habits die hard. I was still driving to Fairfield to get my hair cut for about four or five years after I permanently moved away from there...
